All commissions are secured on a non-refundable deposit basis and must be settled within 14 days prior to the commencement of your commission.

Travel expenses within the Merseyside area would not be necessary; however the commissioner would have to meet any additional travel costs elsewhere in the UK, and would be included in the initial deposit.

I would be willing to travel outside the UK so long as the costs are met by the client.

Please note that pricing does not include framing, however I would be willing to give advice if necessary.

Timescale for the commencement of the commission would depend on my work load and schedule at that moment in time, and may take between two months and twelve months in all.

Artist's Procedure

My procedure will consist of a single meeting with the client either in their home environment or if they prefer, at my studio. This may take between one and three hours in all and will allow us enough time to discuss any ideas or expectations you might wish to convey with me regarding your portrait. We will decide on what kind of mood you would like to portray and the pose etc. We may include certain narrative items into the composition to declare a personal identity to the sitter. From here I may mix some colour samples taken from hair, eyes and clothing etc which will allow me to achieve more accurate colour tones. From here I will compile a series of good quality photograps from which I can then work from in my studio.

Due to the time consuming style of my work, I find this procedure is most agreeable for both my client and myself in the long run, and will allow me to proceed at my own pace and schedule in my studio.

I will endeavour to capture a realistic and detailed likeness to my subject, and try to portray them in their more naturalistic environment.
